KUALA LANGAT, 7 November 2025<\/strong> \u2014 Unity, resilience, and compassion recently took centre stage at the Blue Cap Run 2025.. The event brought together 2,500 runners, including cancer survivors, corporate partners, medical professionals, and members of the public \u2013 all united to raise awareness and support for prostate cancer. <\/strong>The event was co-organised by Yayasan MR D.I.Y., the charitable foundation of the MR D.I.Y. Group, and Universiti Malaya (UM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held at Gamuda Cove, the run was officiated by YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports, who congratulated the organisers for championing cancer awareness while fostering community engagement and a healthy lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants took part in two categories – the 5KM Open Run and the 1KM Survivors\u2019 Run, both designed to honour cancer warriors and encourage inclusivity. The sight of symbolic blue caps created a moving visual tribute to the fight against prostate cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

healThrough collective support and contributions, the event successfully raised over RM700,000, which will be channelled to the University Malaya Urological Cancer Trust Fund (UCTF), where it will be used to support prostate cancer research, patient care, and awareness programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zaleha Mohd Mydin, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan MR D.I.Y., expressed her appreciation for the turnout and impact, saying, \u201cWe are truly elated at the overwhelming response to Yayasan MR D.I.Y.\u2019s maiden involvement in the Blue Cap Run. Today\u2019s event is a celebration of life, courage, and compassion, especially for cancer survivors. Our partnership with University Malaya reflects our ongoing commitment to health-related causes that touch the lives of Malaysians.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event culminated in a prize-giving ceremony, where winners were rewarded with cash vouchers and trophies. Some participants also walked home with lucky draw prizes. But the greatest victory belonged to everyone who ran not just for themselves, but in solidarity with cancer survivors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The success of the Blue Cap Run 2025 reflects the power of collaboration between the private sector, academia, and the community, demonstrating how collective action can drive awareness, empathy, and change across the nation. It was a powerful reminder of the event\u2019s core mission –  to beat prostate cancer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
