KUALA LUMPUR, 12 MAY 2026 <\/strong>\u2013 Betamek Berhad<\/strong><\/a> (“Betamek<\/strong>” or the “Company<\/strong>“), an Original Design Manufacturer (“ODM<\/strong>“) and a leading player in electronics components manufacturing for the automotive industry, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Betamek Research Sdn. Bhd. <\/strong>(\u201cBRSB\u201d), in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS<\/strong><\/a> (\u201cUTP\u201d), today successfully conducted the project closure presentation for the Child Presence Detection (\u201cCPD\u201d) Technology project titled \u201cSafeSync 360: Next Gen-Infotainment with Child Guard Technology\u201d at Zenith Hotel Putrajaya.<\/p>\n\n\n

The project marks a significant milestone for Malaysia\u2019s automotive technology ecosystem as it successfully achieved Technology Readiness Level (\u201cTRL\u201d) 6 and fulfilled all assessment requirements under the ASEAN NCAP 2026\u20132030 protocol for CPD Technology evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This achievement represents a major breakthrough as the project is recognised as the first CPD Technology researched, designed, and developed by a Malaysian company in Malaysia. The collaboration combines Betamek\u2019s automotive electronics expertise with UTP\u2019s research and innovation capabilities to develop an advanced in-vehicle safety solution aimed at enhancing child safety and reducing the risk of children being unintentionally left inside vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cSafeSync 360\u201d system integrates next-generation infotainment capabilities with intelligent Child Guard Technology, supporting the growing demand for smarter and safer mobility solutions in the automotive industry. The project also serves as a platform for BRSB to diversify into broader innovations involving radar sensor technology, enabling future development of intelligent sensing and advanced automotive safety applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving forward, BRSB will continue to work towards the commercialisation of the CPD Technology for deployment in both Malaysia\u2019s Electric Vehicle (\u201cEV\u201d) and Internal Combustion Engine (\u201cICE\u201d) automotive segments. The initiative is expected to strengthen Malaysia\u2019s position in automotive innovation and support the nation\u2019s aspiration to become a regional hub for advanced automotive technologies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
