Latest award strengthens Sabah project pipeline and provides revenue visibility ahead<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

KUCHING, 31 JULY 2026 <\/strong>\u2013 Construction and Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (\u201cEPCC\u201d) specialist, Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>(\u201cSCIB\u201d or the \u201cCompany\u201d), today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, SCIB Industrialised Building System Sdn. Bhd.  (\u201cSIBS\u201d), has secured an EPCC sub-contract valued at approximately RM11.90 million<\/strong> for upgrading works at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (\u201cUMS\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sub-contract involves the proposed upgrading of the air-conditioning system at the Faculty of Engineering building under Phase 1, Package 8 of the UMS development programme. SIBS was appointed as the subcontractor by Demi Cerah Construction Sdn. Bhd. (\u201cDCCSB\u201d). The project is scheduled to commence on 1 August 2026 and is expected to be completed by 3 July 2027. The latest award further strengthens SCIB\u2019s project pipeline in Sabah and reinforces the Group\u2019s capability to undertake technically specialised institutional and public infrastructure works, supported by its engineering, procurement and construction capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n

Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman<\/strong>Datuk Chong Loong Men<\/strong> commented, \u201cThis contract represents another meaningful addition to SCIB\u2019s Construction and EPCC portfolio and further strengthens our presence in Sabah, highlighting the Group’s continued growth in the region. Our engineering, procurement and construction capabilities enable us to deliver projects efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and execution. The upgrading works require close coordination across engineering, procurement and on-site implementation, areas where the Group has continued to build its execution capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added, \u201cInstitutional facilities such as universities require reliable and efficient building systems to support their day-to-day operations. We are pleased to contribute our technical expertise to the upgrading of UMS\u2019 engineering facilities while continuing to grow SCIB\u2019s pipeline of quality projects.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contract is expected to contribute positively to SCIB\u2019s future earnings, with revenue and profit recognition anticipated to take place progressively throughout the contract period based on the progress of works. SCIB intends to fund the project through a combination of internally generated funds and external financing, where required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
