KUALA LUMPUR, 6 AUGUST 2026<\/strong> \u2014 When the curtains rise at Istana Budaya on 22 August 2026, audiences will witness far more than a concert. They will experience a landmark artistic collaboration that brings together one of the world’s most celebrated musicians with some of Malaysia’s finest contemporary performers in a production built on creativity, equality and cultural exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presented by E2Rventures and supported by Solara Group of Companies, BEYOND WORDS \u2013 International Mastery Meets Malaysian Artistry will be the first international concert staged at Istana Budaya following its reopening\u2014 marking a significant milestone for Malaysia’s premier performing arts venue while raising funds to support the SWARA Community Arts Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond a traditional musical showcase, BEYOND WORDS is a celebration of creative equality and artistic convergence. Headlined by Grammy-winning international music legend L. Shankar\u2014renowned double violinist, vocalist, composer, and inventor of the 10-string Double Violin\u2014the one-night-only performance brings together world-class international mastery and Malaysia\u2019s most distinguished virtuosos. Uniquely, the entire ensemble comprises leading Malaysian artists who stand as equal creative partners, showcasing the nation\u2019s performing arts excellence on an international stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joining L. Shankar<\/strong> on stage is an exceptional lineup of Malaysian musical heavyweights, featuring Samuel J. Dass (Malaysia\u2019s \u201cSultan of Sitar\u201d), Prakash Kandasamy (Tabla Virtuoso), Shawalnaz Hussin (Composer, Arranger & Keyboardist), Muhardiman Ismail (Seruling Maestro), Hadi Maswardi (Bassist & Composer), Paavendran Langkadran (Percussionist & Programmer), and guitarists Eliezer Enan and Marco Alonso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving away from the typical format of a visiting international headliner supported by local musicians, BEYOND WORDS is built on equal artistic partnership, mutual respect, and collaborative music-making. The production blends Indian Classical, Jazz, Rock, Pop, and traditional Malaysian textures into an entirely original, unified soundscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration is rooted in a lifelong philosophy of East-West musical fusion and dismantling genre boundaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
