KUALA LUMPUR, 1 MARCH 2023: Malaysia was unanimously chosen as the host for 38th Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress (APAO 2023) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 23 \u2013 26 February 2023. Being the first conference of 2023 for Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), the APAO Congress is the largest and most prestigious Ophthalmology conference in the Asia <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pacific region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MyCEB, an agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia joined by the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmologist (MSO) were given the honour to further promote the science of ophthalmology in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 4,500 with 3,800 international delegates were present during the four-day congress following a collaboration bid by MyCEB and MSO at Hong Kong on 11 February 2018. The congress attracts top eye doctors from all over the world to share and exchange new concepts, advanced technologies, latest treatments, as well as ophthalmologists\u2019 common interest of specific eye diseases in Asia and Malaysia. \u201cThis congress provides an ideal platform for our local experts to gain valuable insights and share best practices from their international counterparts, while at the same time allows us to showcase Malaysia\u2019s credibility as a business events hub and an ideal tourism destination,\u201d he further added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bringing together ophthalmologists from around the world, APAO 2023 is committed in fostering co-operation between ophthalmological societies in different countries and collaborating with other international or regional organisations with similar aims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Malaysia Business Events Special Immigration Lane were given to all delegates attending the Congress at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2).
