KUALA LUMPUR, 11 September — In just five more days to D-Day of Keretapi
Sarong 2023 (KS2023), LOCCO – a trailblazer organisation promoting Malaysia\u2019s
cultural mosaic through the annual event since 2017 is delighted to announce the
secret location for event today!<\/p>\n\n\n\n


In collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Jabatan
Kebudayaan dan Keseniaan Negara (JKKN) and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur
(DBKL), KS2023 this year is supported by Lead Collaborator, Rapid KL – a public
transportation system owned by Prasarana Malaysia Berhad and operated by its
subsidiaries Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


KS2023 Programme Director, Shamsul Bahrin Zainuzzaman said, \u201cOn 16
September, Malaysians and foreigners alike will embark on a journey that transcends
borders, immersing themselves in the hidden gems of this beautiful nation of
Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to announce that this year’s secret location is at the country\u2019s most
iconic and historical place – Dataran Merdeka! With the spacious venue that will
concurrently be filled with Festival Permainan Malaysia, organised by JKKN on that
day, we anticipate more excitement can be enjoyed by the crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cIt will be truly momentous for all to gather in Dataran Merdeka this year after the
train ride departing from selected stations. As we expect a bigger crowd this year, we
anticipate the \u2018flash mob\u2019 train ride will also be merrier with Sarong and Ethnic
garments donned by the people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cThis event is made possible by the collaboration of passionate Malaysians,
adventures, culture enthusiasts, and our lineup of sponsors, who believe in the
power of unity, the beauty of discovery and celebrate the essence of Malaysia\u2019s

Rapid Rail Chief Executive Officer, Amir Hamdan on KS2023 said, “I hope Rapid
KL will have the opportunity to continue collaborating with LOCCO for future Keretapi
Sarong event. We are committed in supporting this Saturday’s event by ensuring a
smooth, comfortable and safe journey for Keretapi Sarong 2023 particpants.”
Wonda, as the official sponsor of KS2023 said, \u201cAs a brand that celebrates
multicultural and multi-ethnicities that are originally Malaysian, KS2023 has
welcomed onboard Wonda Coffee as the main sponsor. No stranger to connecting
Malaysians through a shared love for Malaysian Original Taste through Wonda Kopi
Tarik, Wonda Malaysia will be partnering with KS2023 to celebrate the nation this
Malaysia Day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


With \u201cEthnicity\u201d as the theme, it is estimated around 10,000 people from diverse
cultures and communities to join the crowd that will be treated to captivating cultural
performances, including traditional dances, music, and storytelling sessions which
will provide a deeper understanding of Malaysia’s multicultural identity.
The unique and vibrant celebration will take place on Malaysia Day across various
cities and stations involved including Putrajaya Sentral (KLIA Transit), Subang Jaya
(LRT), Bandar Utama (MRT), Ampang (LRT), Gombak (LRT), Kajang (MRT) and KL
Sentral (LRT) promising a day filled with culture, unity, and fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The flash mob comprises more than 20 groups from different walks of life including
Baba Nyonya Selangor, United Malaysia Hindu Voice, Mandarin Jer, Anak Teater
Malaysia, Malaysia Fashion Creative Award, KL Sketch Nation, Street Meet, UITM
Shah Alam and DBP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


This year, the flash mob event will also concurrently take place in the local cities of
Johor Baharu (along Sungai Segget), Ipoh (KTMB Ipoh) and Kuala Terengganu
(Kampung Budaya Terengganu), as well as in London of United Kingdom
(Battersea Power Station as endpoint).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
