This Holiday, we let the spirit of the season be our guide as we spread the message of Togetherness<\/em> with two Malaysian storytellers, while giving back to our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Book-Reading with Author Daryl Kho, in Support of the Alzheimer\u2019s Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In collaboration with Daryl Kho, award-winning Malaysian author of the bestselling children\u2019s fantasy novel \u201cMist-Bound: How to Glue Back Grandpa\u201d, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf\u00ae<\/em> Malaysia will be hosting a very special book-reading session by the author on 17th<\/sup> December, Saturday. Inspired by his own personal experience with a loved one diagnosed with dementia, Daryl\u2019s novel hopes to raise awareness for the disease and highlight the value of familial love in the face of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhile we at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf\u00ae <\/em>strive to deliver positive experiences at the core of our business, it is also our responsibility to touch upon and tackle issues that affect our community,\u201d said Fiona Rodrigues, Head of Marketing & Innovation, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf<\/em>\u00ae Malaysia. \u201cThe subject of dementia is a difficult one to broach, even for adults; and for children living with a loved one afflicted with the condition, it can be a perplexing and also upsetting experience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added, \u201cThrough his children\u2019s novel \u2018Mist-Bound: How to Glue Back Grandpa\u2019, inspired by his own personal experience with a loved one being diagnose with it, Malaysian author Daryl Kho manages to touch on the topic in a poignant, sensitive manner. We are privileged to have him join us for a very special book-reading session, and we hope to invite families from our community to explore the subject together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Holiday gift tags from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf<\/em>\u00ae Malaysia, alongside a special-themed item inspired by the novel, will also be available for purchase. Part of our Caring Cup programme, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer\u2019s Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM). The donations will be used for ADFM\u2019s dementia care skills training that equips caregivers and care workers with the knowledge and skills to provide quality and effective care for persons with dementia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The book-reading will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf\u00ae <\/em>@The Waterfront, Desa Park City. Members of the public are welcome to sign up and bring their loved ones along for the book-reading by visiting https:\/\/bit.ly\/3Hrswad<\/a>. A selection of food and drinks will also be served during the session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our First-Ever Short Film by filmmaker Jared Lee, Reminding Us to Celebrate Family Togetherness this Holiday Season.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf<\/em>\u00ae Malaysia has also worked with award-winning filmmaker Jared Lee of Grim Film to create our first-ever short film, centred around the spirit of family togetherness that has come to characterise the Holiday season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlongside Daryl, we are also delighted to work with another celebrated Malaysian talent in the arts, Jared Lee of Grim Film, to tell our story of Togetherness <\/em>this season, through our first-ever short film for the Holiday season,\u201d added Fiona. \u201cAs everyone basks in the festive lights and cheer that will no doubt be all around us this season, we wanted to make family a central theme in our storytelling \u2013 to remind everyone to take a little time out to spend with our loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
