13 October 2022 \u2013 Taiwan\u2019s famous cultural and creative brand, eslite (\u8aa0\u54c1)<\/em><\/strong>, which has been recognized by CNN as one of \u201cthe 14 Coolest Department Stores in the World,\u201d is unveiling its first Southeast Asia store, eslite spectrum Kuala Lumpur<\/em><\/strong>. The Grand Opening of the new store in The Starhill, in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, will take place at year\u2019s end. eslite<\/em><\/strong> is now offering the first-ever look at the new store\u2019s design concept, \u201ca voyage of exploration.\u201d Inspired by an Italian novel, \u201cInvisible Cities,\u201d the store will be divided into four main city themes, each with its own distinctive style: \u201cCity of Arches,\u201d \u201cThe Floating City,\u201d \u201cCity of Rippling Waves,\u201d and \u201cCity of Eternal Day.\u201d The store\u2019s diverse offerings will include a rich selection of books, along with creative designs, fashion trends, dining and coffee, and the chance to create your own handcrafted objects. More than 30 arts and cultural activities, including humanities lectures and music performances, are planned for the Grand Opening. eslite<\/em><\/strong> invites everyone in Malaysia to join in a voyage of exploration through these four fantastic cities!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make more opportunities for cultural exchange and creativity in KL, eslite<\/em><\/strong> worked with the well-known Malaysian design brand Loka Made to imagine the four city themes in eslite spectrum Kuala Lumpur<\/em><\/strong> in a charming hand-painted style. Those themes include design elements such as ring-shaped ceilings, colorful canopies, and arches set in red brick walls, while its own classic green carrying bags and \u201cbirdcage\u201d light fixtures are cleverly incorporated into the pictured themes. The eslite bookstore<\/em><\/strong>, a must-see destination for many Malaysians visiting Taiwan, has continued to \u201cintegrate humanities, art, and creativity into life\u201d since its founding in 1989. It opened the world\u2019s first 24-hour bookstore in 1999, and now brings entirely new content to Kuala Lumpur. To design their new eslite spectrum Kuala Lumpur<\/em><\/strong> store, eslite<\/em><\/strong> invited Taiwanese architect Powen Hsiao (\u856d\u535a\u6587), who designed the exhibition space for the \u201c2022 Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades Furniture Collection.\u201d Through his personal vocabulary of spatial design, he expresses the unique \u201cspirit of place\u201d that has been associated with eslite<\/em><\/strong> since its founding. Hsiao says, \u201cSetting out with a spirit of exploration in these four themed cities reminds us of the book \u2018Invisible Cities\u2019 and its beautiful story of encounters between Marco Polo and Kublai Khan.
