If you own a Nissan G-TR R35, you\u2019re not going to want to miss being part of the GT-Festival that will be held from 4-6 October 2024 at the Crowne Plaza Penang Straits City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 3-day 2-night gathering is poised to become Malaysia\u2019s largest gathering of GT-R and will attempt to set a record for the Malaysian Book of Records. Held as a pre-cursor to Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur which will be from 8-10 November 2024, the GT-R Festival weekend will also give owners a chance to mingle with Hiroshi Tamura, also known as the \u201cFather of the Modern GT-R\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tamura, Nissan\u2019s Chief Product Specialist, is the third father to the GT-R, after\u00a0Kazutoshi Mizuno<\/a>, the Godfather of the GT-R, and\u00a0Shin\u2019ichiro Sakurai<\/a>, who developed the original Skyline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 62-year-old joined Nissan in 1984 and worked for three years before being transferred to Autech<\/a>, a subsidiary responsible for building all of the supped up GT-R-powered Nissans. He rejoined Nissan’s product planning department in 1993, eventually making his way up to the planning department for the R34 Skyline GT-R. In 2006 he was named Chief Product Specialist, and has since become known as the Father of the Modern GT-R.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tamura is also a race car driver and famed as a video game influencer. He was one of the instrumental individuals who from the beginning had supported the aspirations of computer whiz Kazunori Yamauchi who was working to develop a life-like driving video game later to be known Gran Turismo.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participation is classified into two categories \u2013 Elite and the Ultimate Elite \u2013 priced at RM1,999 and RM3,499 respectively inclusive of accommodation at five-star Crowne Plaza Penang Straits City and a whole host of entitlements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
