The Pico 4 Ultra enhances the Pico 4 with an upgraded chipset, increased RAM, enhanced passthrough cameras, an advanced sensor suite, a larger battery, improved Wi-Fi, and updated controllers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, launched the Pico 4 VR (virtual reality) headset back in October 2022 to challenge the more popular VR headset at that time, the Meta Quest 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meta released the Quest 3 in October 2023, and only now has ByteDance introduced a VR headset that rivals it once more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pico 4 Ultra<\/a> uses the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset found in the Meta Quest 3. However, while the Quest 3 is equipped with 8GB of RAM, the Pico 4 Ultra boasts 12GB and 256GB of storage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the Pico 4 Ultra features two 2.56-inch displays with a resolution of 2,160 x 2,160 pixels per eye, a refresh rate of 90Hz, a field of view of 105\u00b0 by 105\u00b0, and 20.6 pixels per degree (PPD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The device also includes a 21.9Wh (5,700mAh) battery supporting 45 W charging, stereo speakers, and four microphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the headset operates on an Android-based OS, enabling it to mirror both a smartphone and a PC at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also utilises dual 32 MP cameras for full-colour passthrough and can record 3D videos at 2,048 x 1,536 pixels and 60Hz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
