KUALA LUMPUR, 7 Oct 2025 – WE2025: Future in Motion – Women in Trade. Investment. Leadership, a dynamic new platform is set to spearhead women’s economic empowerment and drive inclusive growth through four main components, featuring at least 11 signature events, 25 distinguished speakers, and the announcement of new strategic partners alongside a corporate sponsor.
WE2025 is spearheaded by Qube Integrated Malaysia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women,
Family and Community Development and supported by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry. The inaugural event will take place from 25 to 27 November 2025 at Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC). It aims to attract 10,000 participants and facilitate RM100 million in potential trade and investment.
The announcement of partners and corporate sponsor for WE2025 underscored the event’s role in strengthening Malaysia’s SME landscape and the wider economy. SMEs account for 39.5% of the national economy, with women entrepreneurs playing an increasingly significant role—over 20% of all businesses were women-owned as of 2022. In this context, WE2025 serves as an important platform to provide SMEs with national-level exposure while equipping women entrepreneurs with valuable insights and guidance from industry leaders who share similar backgrounds.
Berjaya Food Berhad was unveiled as the corporate sponsor for WE2025. New strategic partners were also announced, including the National Council of Women’s Organisations Malaysia, Polity, Peniagawati, Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce’s Women Entrepreneur Committee, Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA Malaysia), WEConnect International and media partner – Ekonomi Rakyat.
The WE2025 event and conferences will feature a line-up of industry experts and global leaders including Atifete Jahjaga, 4th President of the Republic of Kosovo; Retno L.P. Marsudi, former Indonesian Foreign Minister; Anne Vasara, Finland’s Ambassador to Malaysia; Pem Zam, Chief Trade Officer of the Royal Government of Bhutan; Dato’ Mohammad Yusof Apdal, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation; Prof. Emerita Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Sharifah Hapsah Syed Hasan Shahabudin, President of the National Council of Women’s Organisation (NCWO); Khairy Jamaluddin, former Malaysian Minister of Health and Nurul Izzah Anwar, Polity Executive Chairperson amongst others.
In line with Dasar Wanita Negara 2025-2030, WE2025 – a public-private partnership – aims to empower women in entrepreneurship, trade, and investment, promote leadership across all levels, showcase women-led, women-focussed and inclusive enterprises and innovations, and drive policy dialogue and strategic partnerships for inclusive reforms.
WE2025 features 4 flagship components:
- WE2025 Trade and Investment Exposition – a 3-day exhibition featuring over 100 exhibitors.
- WE2025 Leadership Conference – a 2-day conference that gathers 1,000 delegates from government, corporations, chambers of commerce and academia to address megatrends shaping tomorrow’s world.
- WE in Dialogue – Over 10 signature events to enhance the overall goals of WE2025 including, the ASEAN Technology Development and Cooperation Summit organised by Intrinsic SEA which will feature over 100 Companies, 50 Global Investors and 2,000
Innovators from across the globe; Strong Outside, Struggling Inside: The Reality of Men in Leadership by MyMasterMan; and Women Leading Platforms of Change: From Healthcare to Global Growth by SEACare and International Wellness Expo.
