
TRIANG, PAHANG, 16 April 2026 – Genting Malaysia Berhad, in collaboration with the Pahang State Education Department (JPN Pahang) and the Bentong District Education Office (PPD Bentong), today marked the official handover of the Sekolah Angkat Madani (SAM) initiative to two beneficiary schools in Pahang. The ceremony was held at Sekolah Kebangsaan Felda Sungai Kemahal, Triang, reaffirming Genting Malaysia’s long term commitment to supporting national education development through strategic partnerships.
The ceremony was officiated by Yang Berusaha Tuan Haji Ahmad Zamri Bin Md Isa, Director of the Pahang State Education Department, and witnessed by Yang Berhormat Tuan Wong Kah Woh, Deputy Minister of Education as Guest of Honour.
This initiative is implemented under Genting Bersama Malaysia, Genting Malaysia’s corporate social responsibility umbrella, which focuses on inclusive, sustainable and impact driven community development through close collaboration with key stakeholders at the national, state and district levels.
Tailored to have a Meaningful Impact
The Sekolah Angkat Madani initiative focuses on enhancing school infrastructure, strengthening learning environments, and supporting the broader education ecosystem. Each intervention is carefully designed based on the specific needs of the school, following engagement sessions to better understand on the ground challenges faced by school administrators, teachers and students.

The two beneficiary schools under this initiative are Sekolah Kebangsaan Felda Sungai Kemahal and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan LKTP Kampung Sertik, both of which received targeted upgrades aimed at improving teaching and learning facilities.
Comprehensive Upgrades at Sekolah Kebangsaan Felda Sungai Kemahal
At Sekolah Kebangsaan Felda Sungai Kemahal, Genting Malaysia supported the cleaning and repair works of the computer laboratory roof, as well as the refurbishment of science laboratory facilities including the provision of projectors, tables and fans. Classroom facilities were also upgraded with ceiling fans, Google TVs, internet dongles and LCD projectors to support digital learning.
In addition, the school’s main hall was enhanced with a new P.A system and rostrum, a new softball batting cage was constructed to support the school’s sports team, air conditioning units were installed at the teachers’ lounge, and various school programmes and activities were organised for teachers and students respectively.
Facility Enhancements at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan LKTP Kampung Sertik
Meanwhile, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan LKTP Kampung Sertik received comprehensive upgrades to its main hall, including new floor tiles, electrical rewiring, P.A systems, speakers, LCD projectors and display monitors. The school’s catering room for students was also refurbished with new cooking appliances and upgraded tables to better support learning activities.

In his remarks, Yang Berusaha Tuan Haji Ahmad Zamri Bin Md Isa said,

Meaningful contributions such as these go beyond infrastructure improvements, they create a more conducive and future ready learning environment for both students and educators.”

Looking Ahead
The official handover ceremony marks another important milestone in Genting Group’s ongoing efforts to support education through strategic partnerships with government agencies and local communities. Moving forward, the group remains committed to playing a meaningful role in nurturing a knowledgeable, resilient and future ready generation.
There are currently a few ongoing initiatives under its affiliate, Genting Plantations Bhd. The first is SK Taman Indahpura 2 in Kulai, Johor, where funds are being channelled towards the establishment of a one-stop production studio. This facility will train students to become part of a video production ecosystem encompassing journalism, hosting and publishing, enabling them to create educational and learning content.
The second initiative is in SK Ladang Sabapalm, Sandakan, Sabah, where Genting Plantations Bhd is supporting the refurbishment and renovation works involving the school’s main building and teachers’ room, the construction of a general store, and upgrades to essential facilities including the P.A system, installation of notice boards, signages and doors. These improvements are aimed at providing a safer, more organised and conducive environment for both educators and students.
