In celebration of its 20th anniversary, MR.DIY pulled off a spectacular concert at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, drawing over 10,000 enthusiastic fans. MR.DIY 20th Anniversary Concert delivered an unforgettable night of music, unity, and appreciation — making it one of Malaysia’s most dynamic outdoor music events of the year.

The star-studded lineup featured some of Malaysia’s biggest names across cultures and generations, including Penny Tai, Ella, Shila Amzah, Amy Search, Dato’ Awie, Jaclyn Victor, Jeryl Lee, and 3P. Their powerful performances embodied the spirit of diversity, transcending language and generational boundaries, while marking a major milestone in MR.DIY’s remarkable two-decade journey.
Celebrating Unity Through Music Across Languages and Generations
Opening the night with an electrifying trilingual set was international singer Shila Amzah, who performed “Firework” (English), “Memori Tercipta” (Malay), and “想你的夜” (Mandarin). Her commanding presence and multilingual delivery embodied the essence of MR.DIY’s inclusive spirit. After her performance, she lightheartedly remained on stage, requesting a group photo with fans, singing, “Give me two more minutes,” which received a roaring applause.

Pop trio 3P delivered a high-energy debut of their new track “Happy World” and introduced the music video where they collaborated with Japan’s viral dance troupe Avantgardey. Embracing Malaysia’s multiculturalism, they also performed both the Chinese New Year hit “南北大道” and its Malay Hari Raya counterpart “Syawal Berseri”, delighting fans from all walks of life.
Vocal powerhouses Jaclyn Victor and Jeryl Lee demonstrated generational artistry with standout renditions of “Gemilang”, “Believer”, and “孤勇者”. Jeryl emotionally dedicated “酒干倘卖无” to her late father, sharing: “Although I said both my parents are here tonight… my father has actually passed. But I believe he’s still with me — right here, right now.”
Mandopop icon Penny Tai made a heartfelt homecoming, performing “怎样”, “爱疯了 ”, and “你要的爱”. Her return was met with an outpouring of fan support — many holding illuminated signs. Before singing “怎样”, Penny asked the crowd, “Does anyone still know how to sing this song?” The audience immediately responded with a full stadium singalong, to which she laughed: “You almost gave me a heart attack! I thought no one remembered!”

Legendary rocker Amy Search delivered an unforgettable medley of hits, including “Tiada Lagi”, “Fantasia Bulan Madu”, “Pawana”, and the anthemic “Isabella”. The stadium resonated with a massive crowd singalong, transforming into a rock coliseum under the stars. Following suit, fellow rock titan Dato’ Awie took the stage with a fierce performance of “Sejati”, “Di Penjara Janji”, and “Terima Kasih”. His powerful vocals and commanding presence raised the intensity, as fans cheered, clapped, and sang along in a wave of shared emotion.
The night concluded with the queen of Malaysian rock, Ella, who took the spotlight with “Rama-Rama” and “Sembilu”. She was later joined by Jaclyn Victor and Jeryl Lee for an unexpected and rousing joint rendition of “Standing in the Eyes of the World”, closing the evening with unity, pride, and celebration.

A Multisensory Celebration of MR.DIY’s 20-Year Journey
To commemorate its 20th anniversary, MR.DIY curated a truly immersive carnival-style experience for audiences, extending the celebration beyond music.
Attendees were greeted with vibrant thematic photo zones and interactive booths, while complimentary food and beverage vouchers were distributed as a gesture of appreciation to all guests. The grounds buzzed with excitement as families, friends, and fans came together for a night of shared celebration.

The highlight of the evening came in the form of a custom-designed laser light show, synchronized to music and stage movement on a dramatic spectacle symbolizing MR.DIY’s forward-looking spirit. This was followed by a breathtaking fireworks display, illuminating the Kuala Lumpur skyline and drawing gasps and cheers from the audience, marking one of the most visually stunning moments of the evening.
A Tribute to the Past, A Vision for the Future
In closing, MR.DIY expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all Malaysians for their continued trust and support.
“This celebration is more than a milestone — it’s a promise. As we mark 20 incredible years, we renew our commitment to delivering value through our ‘Always Low Prices’ philosophy. We look forward to serving even more Malaysian households in the decades ahead.”
