The public is invited to participate in a full-day event focused on early detection, healthy living, and non-communicable disease (NCD) awareness
SUNWAY CITY, 21 JULY 2025— Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City (SMC), will proudly host its health and wellness event, Life Moves Festival 2025, on Sunday, 3rd August 2025, at the hospital’s Tower D Lobby, from 10am to 4pm.
Open to the public, the one-day festival invites individuals and families to rediscover preventive healthcare through a dynamic blend of interactive exhibits, complimentary screenings, and engaging, family-friendly activities, all under the banner of this year’s theme: “Every Move Matters, Every Step Counts Against NCDs.”
Shining a spotlight on the pressing issue of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) — including diabetes, cancer, and heart disease — the festival reinforces SMC’s steadfast commitment to public health education and early detection efforts. These chronic conditions continue to rank among Malaysia’s top contributors to premature death and long-term illness.
Festivalgoers can benefit from a range of free basic health checks, including blood glucose tests, body composition analysis, and urine tests. These screenings aim to help attendees gain greater awareness of their current health status and encourage follow-up consultations, where necessary.

One of the festival’s standout activities is the “Jantungku” Walkthrough Heart Exhibit, to offer a close-up view of the human heart, allowing festivalgoers to better understand how cardiovascular health is affected by everyday lifestyle choices.
Beyond the screenings and exhibits, the festival also promises a day of light-hearted fun and discovery. Game stations and flash quiz challenges will offer opportunities for all ages to learn about healthy living. Visitors can also browse the Health Marketplace, showcasing wellness brands, health-centric products, and nourishing food options.
The Life Moves Festival is part of SMC’s ongoing efforts to support national public health objectives. It also aligns with the hospital’s aim to foster informed decision-making and long-term behavioural change through continuous education and community-driven initiatives.
As Malaysia’s largest private quaternary hospital, SMC is the first hospital in the nation to earn all three major hospital-wide accreditations—Joint Commission International (JCI), Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS), and Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH).
In recognition of its unwavering pursuit of clinical excellence, SMC was named Malaysia’s top hospital and ranked among the world’s top 250 in Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals for both 2024 and 2025. The hospital also clinched the Hospital of the Year (Malaysia) title at the Healthcare Asia Awards for four consecutive years.
Currently offering over 60 medical specialties across 28 Centres of Excellence, SMC houses 810 licensed beds and is poised to expand to over 1,100 beds with the upcoming completion of Tower F—its dedicated Children’s Pavilion.
