Petaling Jaya, 14 June 2026 – ZHAN Art | Space is proud to present “Yuurei Neko Sama: Uncharted World,” a solo exhibition by acclaimed Malaysian artist and character designer Michael Chuah. Running from now until 12 July 2026, this immersive storytelling exhibition bridges the gap between character design and contemporary fine art. The exhibition follows Chuah’s signature creation, Yuurei Neko Sama (the beloved cat turned ghost), and his loyal frog companion through various adventures that are brought to life on canvas.
“Uncharted World” is a contemporary pop-art exhibition exploring what happens when curiosity overcomes comfort. Triggered by a gift of a toy ship, the characters choose a high-seas adventure; coming face-to-face with a vibrant cast of new mythical youkai (Japanese spirits). The exhibition features a diverse, collectible collection of new characters and new stories told on canvas.
“I am deeply grateful to ZHAN Art | Space for the opportunity to share this body of work. This exhibition marks a major milestone in my career, as I have blended my character design with fine art. It offers the viewers a first look at some new characters but the core theme serves as a universal metaphor for personal growth and self-discovery” shared Michael Chuah.
Yuurei Neko Sama: Uncharted World – A Solo Exhibition by Michael Chuah is on display from now till 12 July 2026 and art enthusiasts can look forward to purchasing his figurines, sculptures and artworks between the range of RM 650 to RM18,500.
