Petaling Jaya, 22 July 2026 – MBSB Bank Berhad (“MBSB Bank”) has approved RM105 million in Shariah-compliant financing for Mydin Wholesale Cash and Carry Sdn. Bhd. (MWCC) to support the expansion of the MYDIN Group’s retail footprint and strengthen access to affordable essential goods for communities across Malaysia.
The financing package comprises funding for the acquisition of an existing hypermarket property in Sandakan, Sabah, the development of a new medium-sized hypermarket in Tanah Merah, Kelantan, as well as working capital and ancillary financing requirements.
The financing will enable MYDIN to strengthen its retail footprint in Sabah and Kelantan through the acquisition of an existing hypermarket and the development of a new outlet. The expansion will improve access to affordable, halal-certified products and everyday essentials, while creating employment opportunities, supporting local SMEs and vendors, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the surrounding communities.
The new Tanah Merah hypermarket will also incorporate more efficient operational and energy-saving features, reflecting MYDIN’s commitment to sustainable business practices while enhancing customer convenience and supporting the growing demand for modern retail facilities in the district.
