Empowering Malaysian SMEs to scale through direct-to-consumer strategy, digital commerce, logistics and fulfilment insights

KUALA LUMPUR, 24 September 2026 – Pos Malaysia Berhad (“Pos Malaysia”), Malaysia’s national post and parcel service provider, is launching the SME Jumpstart Workshop 2026 to help Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) scale beyond online marketplaces and build stronger direct-to-consumer (D2C) business models. While marketplaces have helped many SMEs gain visibility and sales momentum, the next phase of growth depends on owning customer relationships, improving repeat purchases, and strengthening profitability through better digital commerce, fulfilment and customer retention strategies.
The SME Jumpstart Workshop 2026 is a practical business growth workshop for Malaysian SMEs, entrepreneurs and aspiring founders who want to scale beyond online marketplaces. The programme focuses on direct-to-consumer strategy, owned sales channels, customer retention, profitability, digital commerce, logistics enablement and long-term SME business resilience.
Organised by Pos Malaysia and supported by title partner ZUS Coffee, the one-day programme brings together founders, business leaders, industry experts, ecosystem partners and supporting agencies to equip Malaysian SMEs with practical insights, real-world founder experiences and business solutions for sustainable growth.
The workshop also reflects Pos Malaysia’s transformation from a traditional postal operator into a nationwide logistics, fulfilment and commerce partner for Malaysian businesses. With its last-mile delivery reach, retail network and parcel logistics capabilities, Pos Malaysia is well-positioned to support SMEs in building direct online sales channels, improving fulfilment and delivery experiences, and strengthening brand trust that drives loyalty and repeat purchase.
The initiative comes as more Malaysian SMEs look for ways to reduce over-reliance on thirdparty marketplace platforms, protect margins and build direct relationships with customers. By combining business strategy, digital readiness, logistics support and ecosystem access, the workshop aims to enable SMEs to compete beyond price and build more resilient, customerled growth models.
Charles William, Group Chief Sales Officer of Pos Malaysia said,”Growing a profitable online business means understanding your customer economics. Too many SMEs chase volume without looking at acquisition costs or repeat purchase rates. Selling direct to your own customers through your website, social channels, or repeat purchase programmes gives you three critical advantages: you own the customer data and relationship, not a marketplace algorithm; you improve margins through better retention and repeat purchases; and you build a sustainable business that isn’t dependent on any single platform’s fee structure or policy changes.”
“The SME Jumpstart Workshop 2026 is designed to give entrepreneurs the tools they need to make that shift from volume-chasing to profit-building. We’re bringing in founder experiences and proven growth strategies that show sellers exactly how to calculate customer lifetime value, reduce acquisition costs, and structure their business around repeat customers and brand loyalty. That’s what separates a business that’s simply busy fulfilling orders from one that’s actually building wealth and resilience for the long term.”
The programme will feature speakers including Charles William, Datuk Wira Dr. Azizan Osman of RichWorks and Edwin Wang, Co-Founder of Signature Market, alongside industry experts and ecosystem partners. Through keynote presentations, founder stories, expert-led discussions and an interactive panel with live audience polling, participants will gain practical insights into D2C growth, customer acquisition, brand building, digital readiness, SME funding, logistics enablement and sustainable business expansion.
Attendees will also receive a Brew Passport to connect with exhibiting partners, explore business solutions and obtain expert guidance at each booth, with completed passports redeemable for an exclusive goodie bag featuring complimentary products, special offers and partner giveaways.
The workshop will also explore how SMEs can improve online discoverability in an evolving search environment shaped by SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation), helping businesses become more visible across search engines, answer engines and AI-powered discovery platforms.
Beyond the learning sessions, participants can connect directly with business leaders, ecosystem partners and supporting agencies across digital transformation, compliance and SME financing, marketing, customer engagement, logistics, fulfilment and regional expansion.
The workshop is organised in collaboration with ecosystem partners across company registration, digital transformation, SME financing, customer engagement, marketing, export readiness and business advisory. Partners include Companies Commission of Malaysia
(SSM), FundedHere, Infobip, Luxana Technologies, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), NP Digital, RichWorks Consulting Group and SME Corp. Malaysia.
This inaugural SME Jumpstart Workshop marks the start of a broader SME engagement platform by Pos Malaysia, with future themed editions to be announced in due course. The series reinforces the Company’s long-term commitment to giving SMEs access to relevant expertise, industry networks and practical business solutions that support sustainable growth.
Entrepreneurs, business owners and aspiring founders are encouraged to register early as places are limited. The initiative reinforces Pos Malaysia’s role in helping Malaysian SMEs move goods, reach customers, improve fulfilment, strengthen brand visibility and participate more effectively in the country’s digital commerce economy.
