KUALA LUMPUR, 29 SEPTEMBER 2026 – Kia Sales Malaysia (KSM) has fortified its aftersales operations with the full-scale establishment of its centralised parts warehouse in Shah Alam, providing a stronger foundation for parts availability, and nationwide support for Kia owners.

The strengthened warehouse operations form part of KSM’s wider efforts to build a robust aftersales ecosystem, complemented by an average 15% reduction in prices across nearly all Kia Genuine Parts and greater flexibility under the Kia Maintenance Plan (KMP).

Kia Sales Malaysia President and CEO, Hyung Ho Kim, reiterated that the ownership journey is at the centre of the Kia experience, both in Malaysia and globally. “Since the start of our operations, our approach has been to build the fundamentals first – from parts availability and inventory management to dealer capability and service support.  These are the foundations that allow us to deliver a more consistent ownership experience today, while preparing Kia Malaysia for sustainable growth in the years ahead,” Kim said.

Working closely with logistics partner, PKT Logistics Group, KSM has strengthened the infrastructure and processes supporting nationwide parts availability aimed at greater confidence in the availability, accessibility and cost of maintaining Kia vehicles.

A key component of this effort is KSM’s central parts warehouse at One Logistics Hub in Shah Alam. Spanning approximately 20,000 sq. ft. and supported by nine dedicated staff for Kia operations, the facility serves as the central foundation for parts inventory management and nationwide distribution.

In addition to streamlining its parts and logistics operations, Kia has reduced Genuine Kia Parts prices by an average of 15 percent, helping to deliver a more hassle-free ownership experience and greater cost manageability for customers.

Recent parts shipments have enabled KSM to achieve near-complete parts availability across all models currently on sale, covering service, electrical, mechanical and structural components, as well as previous generations. This includes parts supporting vehicles still in operation such as the Kia Forte, Cerato, Picanto, Stinger, Seltos, Optima, EV6 and EV9, alongside multiple generations of the Carnival, Sportage and Sorento.

Alongside, improved infrastructure is supported by enhanced order and inventory management systems, streamlining the journey from dealer ordering to quality control and final despatch, as well as refilling of parts stock.

Guided by global Kia standards and established parts management practices, the upgraded warehouse targets up to same-day delivery within the Klang Valley, while significantly reducing fulfilment lead times for other regions across Malaysia.

The streamlined processes, supported by layered checks at multiple stages, have contributed to a 100% parts delivery accuracy rate since the start of operations.

Beyond the warehouse, KSM has also worked closely with its dealer network to strengthen inventory management and ensure timely stock replenishment at the dealer level.

Dealer teams have also undergone training to ensure consistent processes and workflows, while the integrated system enables KSM to monitor dealer inventory levels and support replenishment based on actual requirements.

Together, these measures are designed to create a more connected parts supply chain, from central warehouse through to individual dealerships and ultimately to current and future Kia owners.

Enriching the ownership experience

The strengthened aftersales infrastructure is complemented by initiatives aimed at making Kia ownership more accessible and manageable over the longer term.

Kia Sales Malaysia Managing Director, Emily Lek, emphasised that establishing the centralised warehouse operations has been a key pillar of Kia’s Return, Rebuild and Reposition strategy in Malaysia.

“These efforts are complemented by initiatives such as the reduction in genuine parts prices and greater flexibility for customers to purchase the Kia Maintenance Plan. Together, these measures are designed to make Kia ownership more straightforward and predictable, while ensuring our aftersales capabilities continue to grow alongside our customer base,” said Lek.

Earlier in 2026, KSM introduced an average 15% reduction in prices across nearly all Kia Genuine Parts, helping to lower the cost of ownership for customers while making genuine parts more accessible through the authorised Kia network.

The improvement also extends to the flexibility offered through the Kia Maintenance Plan (KMP), a prepaid five-year scheduled servicing package designed to allow customers to lock in scheduled maintenance costs at current prices.

The plan covers key scheduled maintenance items including full synthetic engine oil, oil filter, cabin and engine air filters, brake fluid and spark plugs, together with multi-point vehicle inspections, labour and standard scheduled service costs.

Providing greater flexibility and affordability, customers can now opt into the KMP plan for up to 11 months from the vehicle’s registration date, provided the vehicle has not reached its first lubricant change milestone.

The pricing starts from RM2,980 for the Sportage 1.6T, RM3,580 for the Carnival 2.2D and RM3,680 for the Sportage 2.0.

By combining more accessible genuine parts pricing with greater flexibility in maintenance planning, KSM is giving owners more ways to manage their long-term servicing costs with greater predictability.

A Wider Footprint, Now Reaching Customers In The East Coast

Complementing its strengthened aftersales capabilities, KSM is also continuing to expand its customer touchpoints across Malaysia.

The latest addition to the network will be Kia Kota Bharu, operated by Baihaki Automotive Sdn Bhd, located at Lot 5143, Jalan 1A/44, Kawasan Perindustrian II, Pengkalan Chepa, 16100 Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

The facility will be fully operational from 15 October 2026 as a 2S (Service and Spare Parts) centre, with its showroom and sales operations to commence soon thereafter.

The expansion provides Kia customers in Kelantan with a more accessible touchpoint for genuine parts and aftersales support, while further strengthening KSM’s nationwide network as the brand continues to build its presence in Malaysia.

Strong Global Momentum

Globally, Kia has kicked off 2026 with a historic milestone, posting its highest-ever first-half sales performance since the company first entered the automobile market in 1962.

Between January and June, the automaker sold a total of 1,630,988 units worldwide surpassing the previous first-half benchmark set in 2025, when Kia recorded 1,587,536 total sales.

The second quarter (Q2) of 2026 saw Kia sustain its growth momentum with the automaker achieving its highest-ever quarterly sales of 851,639 units, up 4.5% year-on-year.

Kia’s retail sales for electrified vehicles surged 60% year-on-year to 296,000 units; bringing its global market share to a record high of 4% for the first half of 2026.

Looking ahead, Kia is optimistic about sustaining its sales momentum in the second half of 2026 driven by solid EV and HEV demand, reinforcing its electrification leadership.
