EXPERIENCE RAJASTHAN’S RARE CULTURAL PERFORMANCES AT PAVILION KUALA LUMPUR’S DIYA DEEPAVALI CELEBRATION

KUALA LUMPUR, 3 OCTOBER 2025 – Pavilion Kuala Lumpur will host a three-day Indian Cultural Extravaganza this Deepavali, bringing the vibrant traditions of Rajasthan to Malaysia for the first time in 15 years. From now until 5 October 2025, acclaimed performers from India’s Anhad Studio will present rarely seen Rajasthani art forms, including the hypnotic Kalbeliya dance, the elegant Ghoomar dance, and electrifying folk music from India’s desert state.

Held in collaboration with Barbeque Nation, the festival will feature hands-on workshops, traditional puppet shows, craft activities, and authentic Indian cuisine tastings, offering visitors an immersive experience of one of India’s most colourful cultural legacies.

DAILY PROGRAMME

Day 1 – Friday, 3 October 2025: Desert Rhythms

  • Kalbeliya Dance (the traditional “snake charmer” dance of Rajasthan)
  • Folk singing with authentic Rajasthani instruments
  • Interactive session: Learn Kalbeliya dance steps

Day 2 – Saturday, 4 October 2025: Colours of Tradition

  • Ghoomar Dance Show
  • Lagaz Singing Performance

Day 3 – Sunday, 5 October 2025: Royal Finale

  • Grand Fusion Act featuring Kalbeliya + Ghoomar dances
  • High-energy Group Folk Music performance.
