Kuala Lumpur, 19 November 2025 – Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad (PruBSN), Malaysia’s best family takaful operator for 12 consecutive years, has partnered with KPJ Healthcare Berhad (KPJ Healthcare) to host the PruBSN x KPJ Healthcare Wellness Event at Damansara Specialist Hospital 2 (DSH2) that was held on 15 November 2025. This was no ordinary event as it underscores the long-standing synergy of both organisations to advance healthcare accessibility and promote healthier lifestyles among Malaysians. In conjunction with the promotion of PRUPanel Plus, this initiative aimed at enhancing healthcare access and benefits for PruBSN medical certificate holders and KPJ customers nationwide.
PRUPanel Plus brings together 60 selected panel hospitals across Malaysia that have established strategic partnerships with PruBSN. With plans to expand the network every two years to ensure wider accessibility and enhanced healthcare options for our customers. These hospitals provide PruBSN medical certificate holders with exclusive privileges, including waiver of deposits and administrative fees during hospital admission, exclusive gifts and engagement opportunities with agents, as well as access to high-quality medical care. While the benefits may vary across hospitals, all PRUPanel Plus partners share a common mission. Where both parties aim to make healthcare more accessible and enhance customer experience.

By collaborating with established healthcare providers such as KPJ Healthcare, PruBSN aims to ensure that customers can receive timely and quality medical care without unnecessary financial burdens. Today, all 30 KPJ hospitals nationwide are recognised as PruBSN panel hospitals, and 18 of them have been designated as PRUPanel Plus hospitals. PRUPanel Plus is one of the initiatives under PruBSN’s Health Pillar, which focuses on delivering better healthcare experiences through strategic partnerships.
PruBSN Officer-in-Charge, Kelvin Wong said, “Health is no longer just a product segment. It has become a core pillar of our business strategy. As more Malaysians face rising medical costs and the challenges of chronic health conditions, our role as a takaful operator is no longer just about providing protection. That’s why we have introduced The Peace-of-Mind Plan. Our commitment to give assurance to every patient, including our 4 million customers in Malaysia. This promise is anchored under our Health Pillar, which is all about helping people when they need it most”.
President and Managing Director of KPJ Healthcare, Chin Keat Chyuan said, “KPJ Healthcare values this collaboration with PruBSN as it supports our shared aim of giving communities greater confidence when accessing care. Guided by our purpose, Care for Life, we remain focused on delivering timely treatment, clear care pathways and supportive experience for patients and families across our network of hospitals and specialists. Initiatives like PruPanel Plus encourage early engagement with healthcare services and strengthen the assurance that both organisations strive to provide.”

The Wellness Event marked the grand finale of a nationwide roadshow at the central region that had toured across peninsular Malaysia previously from the northern region at Ipoh Specialist Hospital, to the southern region at Bandar Dato’ Onn Specialist Hospital, and the east coast at KPJ Perdana. The one-day engagement brought together customers, healthcare professionals, and families to promote healthy lifestyle. Attendees enjoyed complimentary health screenings, informative health talks, PRUPanel Plus advocacy sessions, and interactive activities such as a colouring contest for children.
On another note, PruBSN continues to fulfil its responsibility to customers through meaningful financial support during times of need. In 2024, PruBSN paid out RM1.2 billion in claims covering personal accidents, medical treatments, critical illnesses, total permanent disability, and death. Every claim represents a real-life story. A reflection of the challenges and realities that families face where PruBSN continues to stand by its promise to be there when customers need it most.
PruBSN works closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that clinical decisions remain in the hands of qualified doctors, while the role of PruBSN focuses on confirming coverage in accordance with the terms of the certificate. PruSBN collaborates with medical providers by reviewing relevant documentation such as admission forms and imaging reports, to ensure that diagnoses and treatments align with regulatory and professional standards.
PruBSN claims processes are continuously refined through active engagement with both customers and healthcare partners, incorporating their feedback to enhance transparency and responsiveness. Underwriting rules and policy terms are applied consistently, guided by the principles of the Financial Services Act and Islamic Financial Services Act. This shared approach fosters fair, evidence-based decision-making and strengthens trust across our ecosystem, ensuring that customers, providers, and partners are supported with clarity and integrity.
