4-day film festival offers Malaysia audiences the chance to enjoy Korean movies for free

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Malaysia will be hosting 2023 Korean Film Festival at GSC Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur from November 22nd to 26th

This year, in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Look East Policy between Korea and Malaysia, five films, “The Front Line” (2011), , “Kai: The Legend of Mirror Lake” (2016), , “Bori” (2018) , “Granny Poetry Club” (2019), “Tunnel” (2016), representing the core values of Korean public diplomacy – “Peace, Freedom, Solidarity and Prosperity” – have been carefully selected.(Refer to the attachment for detailed information)

In the launching ceremony of 2023 Korea Film Festival, the director of “The Lord Musang King,” the first film that co-produced by Korea and Malaysia, will be at presence as a concrete example of close friendship between two countries. This collaboration is significant as it brings together the globally successful Korean film industry with the Malaysian film industry, known for its diverse cultural background and enormous potential. 

All film screenings will be free and open to the public. Tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis and are redeemable from 12pm onwards on 16th November 2023 via GSC e-payment (website and mobile app) or GSC ticketing kiosk at GSC Midvalley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur and receive TWO complimentary tickets!

Tickets for the 2023 Korean Film Festival are FREE OF CHARGE  (inclusive of booking fees) on a first-come, first-served basis and are redeemable from noon onwards on 16th November 2023 via GSC ticketing kiosk in GSC Mid Valley  and GSC e-payment (website and mobile app).

1. The 2023 Korean Film Festival  titles are as listed below:

  • Bori (P12)
  • Kai (P12)
  • Granny Pottery Club (P12)
  • Tunnel (16)
  • The Front Line (16)

2. All tickets are not exchangeable and cannot be sold / redeemed / exchanged for cash.

3. All tickets are FREE (inclusive of booking fees) and are redeemable from noon onwards on 16th November 2023 on a first-come, first-served basis via
GSC ticketing kiosk and GSC e-payment (website and mobile app).

4. Distribution of the free face sheet masks will be at the end of each KFF movie screening at the cinema hall exit, while stocks last.
