Malaysians love cars, and what better way to spend your weekend this Saturday and Sunday (8-9 June) than to visit the 2024 International Automodified (IAM) and Malaysia Motor Expo (MME) that is being held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Visitors and enthusiasts to this weekend’s IAM-MME 2024 will also stand to win a modified Honda N-Box! Paying tribute to 300 of Malaysia’s best modified cars, IAM is the largest car tuning and lifestyle show as well as competition with the distinction of touring more than 38 cities throughout Indonesia since 2001 and with shows in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. The show, which attracts thousands of car enthusiasts annually, presents awards to the best-tuned cars in 100 individual categories including bestowing the honor of King of IAM KL. IAM will also be hosting its maiden show in the United States in August this year.
This year’s IAM-MME is also held in celebration of the 20th Malaysian Car of the Year Awards, organized in honor of the best new vehicles in 2024. Also on display will be the winning vehicles from COTY 2023 which includes the Overall COTY 2023 Winner the Honda e-HEV Civic RS and a selection from Volvo, Ford, BYD, Perodua, and Cherry among others.
Alongside this showcase of vehicles, will be products, innovations, and the latest developments in automotive technology by various automotive stakeholders, car dealers, and original equipment manufacturers (OEM). This year’s show will also demonstrate how companies are providing vocational training towards internationally recognized certification in electric vehicles. Also on display will be a wide variety of vehicles that are not available at official showrooms by independent vehicle importers.
The 20th Malaysia Car of the Year (COTY) Awards is an annual award for automotive enthusiasts and experts to recognize and celebrate the best new cars in Malaysia namely models introduced to the market between 1 August 2023 and 31 July 2024. The judging panel consists of an experienced panel of automotive journalists and professionals who will be evaluate cars based on numerous criteria, including design, technology, safety, and value for money. An exciting and new category is being introduced this year to recognize achievements in vehicle electrification, namely existing or soon-to-be launched EV-friendly properties and their developers.
