Richie Tan is the art, the creator and the revolution, born in Malaysia and a self-taught abstract artist
Richie immersed himself in the art world from young age , during high school , he pursued 0’level courses with a focus on potrait and realistic art , Mastering skills such as sketching, watercolor, collage, and charcoal over more than 8 years.
In late 2021 Richie ventured into the realm of abstract painting for the first time. Abstract art serves as a unifying force for Richie, enabling him to express himself through variossplashes, brush strokes, colors, and layered compositions, a form of communication he finds more adpt than verbal expression, which he struggles with. His artistic style draws influence from American artist Jackson Pollock, as well as from his own life experiences and emotional connections with others
In late 2023, Richie made the decision to leave behind his career in agriculture to fully commit to his passion as an artist. Initially daunting, this transition proved to be a journey marked by perseverance and relentless dedication. Through diligent effort and seizing opportunities along the way, he eventually discovered illumination along his artistic path
“Solo Dance” painting will be the starting piece of the collaboration between Richie Tan and Non artist DJ Leina Lei, after a conversation about art, he decided to collaborate with her. Leina’s color choices, embodying love and kindness, were a stark contrast to Richie’s. He saw her talent in painting, and decided to work on their collaboration as he found the missing piece of his artistic puzzle.
