- In 2024, VitaHealth and Tropicana launched their first and longest-ever record-breaking OFFLINE 16 wellness event. This year, OFFLINE 16 returns bigger and better, aiming to hit over 1,200 participants nationwide through a four-part event series.
- The first event, a pickleball challenge in Penang, attracted over 200 participants, while the second edition, Nature’s Retreat at FRIM, Kepong, recorded 300 participants for a day of immersive activities focused on physical, mental, and environmental well-being.
- This wellness movement will build up to the flagship event at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort this August, followed by a final rest-and-recharge resort retreat this October.
First launched in 2024, OFFLINE 16 was a smashing success, garnering over 300 participants and championing both mental and physical wellness. Spearheaded by the Australian-owned supplement brand VitaHealth Malaysia (“VitaHealth”) and community builder and master planner Tropicana Corporation Berhad (“Tropicana” or “Group”), OFFLINE 16 encourages participants to disconnect from digital devices and reconnect with the world around them. Building on this momentum and in alignment with both companies’ ESG commitments, this year’s movement aims to engage over 1,200 participants nationwide.
Unlike last year’s record-breaking 16-hour single event, OFFLINE 16 has evolved into a series of themed gatherings, each one designed to be more accessible, while spotlighting different facets of mindfulness and wellness. The journey began with the Pickleball Challenge in Penang last month, followed by Nature’s Retreat at FRIM, Kepong, just this past weekend. The movement will culminate in its largest edition yet at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort (“TGCR”) this August, with a final rest-and-recharge resort retreat this October.
Speaking at the event, Dr KS Beh, Chief Executive Officer of VitaHealth (Malaysia & Singapore) and founder of OFFLINE 16, shared, “Our mission is to transform OFFLINE 16 into a widespread mental wellness movement, where everyone, young and old, can take meaningful breaks from the digital world, and embrace a healthier and happier lifestyle. Our first kick-off event at Penang attracted over 200 participants through a dynamic pickleball challenge. Today, our second edition, Nature’s Retreat event at FRIM, welcomed an impressive 300 participants. This further reinforces that Malaysians are increasingly receptive to healthier, more engaging, and balanced ways of living. At VitaHealth, we live by our slogan ‘Healthy Life, Happy Vibes’, and we are committed to championing this movement for many years to come,” Dr Beh added.
Serena Lim, Senior General Manager of Group Corp Comms & ESG unit of Tropicana and Senior Committee Member of Tropicana Foundation, emphasised, “As a community builder, our ESG commitments centre on creating and nurturing liveable townships where residents can truly enjoy a work-live-learn-shop-play environment. OFFLINE 16 is more than just a digital detox— it’s a platform that nurtures mental, physical, and environmental wellness. We are proud to continue this journey with VitaHealth, representing both Tropicana Corporation and our community-conscious arm, Tropicana Foundation. In line with our mantra ‘Redefining the Art of Living, Caring and Sharing’, we remain committed to growing this positive movement, and we warmly welcome more corporate partners to join us.”
Also present at the event were Foo Hwei Jiek, Trading Director of Watsons Malaysia; Malaysia’s very own Olympian and VitaHealth ambassador, Pearly Tan; Lui Hui Yin, Centre Manager and Counsellor of Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA); Choi Mann Yee, Clinical Psychologist of National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM); and Yoong Yi, Founder of Precious Plastic Malaysia. Their presence underscored the growing support for mental wellness and sustainable living initiatives.

“I believe that wellness is not just about staying active. It’s also about finding balance and peace of mind,” shared Pearly Tan. “That’s why OFFLINE 16 means so much to me. It’s a great reminder to pause, breathe, and just enjoy the present. I’m really happy to be part of this movement that promotes mental well-being and builds a happy community.”

Pearly Tan, who has been representing VitaHealth since 2023 renewed a two-year ambassadorship contract with VitaHealth, marking her long-term partnership with the popular Australian-owned wellness brand.

WHERE PHONES GO OFF AND PEACE FLOWS ON
OFFLINE 16: Nature’s Retreat took place on 21 June 2025 at FRIM, Kepong, drawing over 270 participants for a rejuvenating morning of mindfulness and wellness. The day began with energising warm-up movements, followed by a guided nature trek through the lush forest reserve. Participants later enjoyed a calming tai chi session under the trees, a hands-on recycling workshop, and a group breathing and meditation session. These activities were thoughtfully curated to offer a holistic experience of physical, mental and environmental wellbeing. The structured ‘offline hours’ ran from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, during which participants disconnected from their devices to fully immerse in the present—staying mindful, connected, and grounded in nature.
In a key highlight of the event, VitaHealth officially announced the two-year renewal of its ambassadorship with national shuttler Pearly Tan, who has been representing the brand since 2023. Currently ranked World No. 3, Pearly was also awarded a cash incentive of RM15,000 by VitaHealth in recognition of her recent outstanding achievements — winning the Thailand Open and finishing as runner-up at the Indonesia Open. The event concluded with a brief meet-and-greet session, where Pearly took time to engage with her fans.

NEXT STOP: THE BIG FINALE
Following the success of OFFLINE 16: Nature’s Retreat and the enthusiastic turnout in Penang, anticipation is mounting for the next phase of the OFFLINE 16 series. The upcoming grand finale at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort (“TGCR”) promises to be the most immersive experience yet, featuring a range of engaging activities—from a pickleball session with Olympian Pearly Tan and Malaysia’s top pickleball player Colin Wong, to interactive games, a dedicated rest-and-relaxation corner, and a scenic sunset walk to end the day on a serene note.
With nearly 900 participants already engaged across the first four events, VitaHealth and Tropicana are well on track to achieving their target of 1,200 participants, creating space for more Malaysians to unplug and experience the art of being present. OFFLINE 16 continues to prove that sometimes, the most powerful act of self-care is to simply switch off and be present in the moment.
